Opel unveils its new emblem !
Today, Opel unveils a new interpretation of its iconic ‘Blitz’, which will be carried by all production models from early 2024. It will continue to be a central element of the Opel Compass, one of the key features of the Rüsselsheim-based manufacturer’s exciting design philosophy. At the same time, it remains at the center of the Opel Vizor, which is the new ‘face’ of the brand. The Thunderbolt (“Blitz” in German) emblem is closely associated with electricity and ideally symbolizes Opel’s strategy towards electrification.
“Our ‘Blitz’ is more relevant than ever. It symbolizes our commitment to democratize innovation and mobility and at the same time, it communicates our strategy to become an all-electric brand in Europe by 2028. Already right now, our model range includes 15 electric models and we can proudly say that Opel is electric,” said Opel CEO Florian Huettl.
“The ‘Blitz’ is the symbol of our Bold & Pure philosophy. The sharp, confident new ‘Blitz’ intersects the outer ring, giving our emblem a striking, modern look. It ties into the center of the Opel Compass, which forms the backbone of our front, rear and interior design elements,” said Mark Adams, Vice President Design.
The German manufacturer will gradually launch the new emblem on all models over the next few years, starting in early 2024. However, Opel CEO Florian Huettl announced that the new logo will be seen as early as this year. “The IAA Mobility is one of the world’s largest motor shows and therefore the perfect opportunity to launch our new ‘Blitz’ to a large, international audience. In addition, we have prepared a surprise that will delight our visitors to Munich,” he said.
